Austin, TX (ZPRYME NEWS) – 06/20/08 – The General Electric Co. has entered into a contract to supply gas powered generators to Iraq. Reuters reported in “GE gets deal to supply Iraq gas-powered generators” that the government of Iraq had entered into a contract with the General Electric Co. to purchase eight natural gas powered generators The agreement was reached after it was approved by the Iraqi government. The contract price was valued at 275 million dollars or 179 million euros.

Austin, TX (ZPRYME NEWS) – 05/14/08 - In an Industry Press Release “Abu Dhabi lifts tourism targets: 2.7 million by 2012 end six service delivery Priorities define five-year plan”, Arabian Business reported that the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which is the head authority in the management of the tourism in Abu Dhabi increased its tourists projections that were set in the year 2004. By 2012, the projected annual guests for its hotels are to reach 2.7 million or up by 12.5 percent. This projection also calls for more hotel rooms which are expected to reach at 25,000 by 2012.

In 25 July 2007, Issac John of Business Times with “GCC’s foreign acquisitions to hit $60 billion”, reported that the $60 billion worth acquisitions made by the gulf companies even increased with the $2 billion worth of acquisition made by the Dubai Aerospace Enterprises for a 60 percent share in Auckland International Airport.
